German Shorthaired Pointer Temperament
The German Shorthaired Pointer is a superb breed for an active, energetic, outdoorsy family. GSP’s are known to love being around people and participating in everyday family activities.
Despite their dominant behavior due to their natural hunting instincts, GSP’s tend to get along with other dogs and pets.
German Shorthaired Pointers are highly intelligent dogs full of energy even after their maturing age around two years old.
GSP’s need plenty of activity and exercise to be happy. If they get bored, they may take it upon themselves to find things to do, which can lead to problem behaviors.
Care
German Shorthaired Pointers are more energetic and sporty than most breeds, they are recommended for two full sessions of exercise including running, swimming, retrieving, long walks or anything else you can do to get them active.
